Recycling & Safe Disposal of Smoke Detectors in Macon County, IL

Smoke Detector on Ceiling When purchasing smoke detectors, check the label to see if the manufacturer has an end-of-use take-back program. If so, smoke detectors may be shipped back to the manufacturer after use. As an alternative, household smoke detectors may be placed in the trash for disposal.
