Christmas Light Recycling
November 27, 2017 - January 16, 2018
Strings of unwanted Christmas lights may be dropped off for recycling between November 27, 2017, and January 16, 2018, at two Macon County Environmental Management sites. Residents may drop-off strings of lights at 141 S. Main St., Room 408, Decatur, Illinois during regular business hours* from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Strings of lights may also be placed in the white collection box outdoors at the Macon County Environmental Management Recycling Center (1750 N. 21st St., Decatur).
Residents may drop off both working and non-working strings of lights. Please remove packaging before dropping off, but bulbs may remain on strings of lights.

Note: Collections of Christmas light strings for recycling will also be located at the Forsyth, IL Lowes through January 1, 2018.
*Please note: Macon County offices close at noon on December 22 and 29 and are closed on December 22 and January 1 & 15.
